The World"s 1st Commercial Two-step Carbon Minerallization Planet by Greenore

Greenore's first commercial CCUS plant, also the world's 1st commercial two-step carbon mineralization plant, is now in operation. The very first batch of calcium carbonate has been successfully produced in July 2023!

Spring 2022              

CONSTRUCTION OF 100,000 TON SLAG/Y PLANT IN PROGRESS

The JV between Greenore and Baotou Steel (Group) has been leading the construction of the world's first-of-a-kind commercial scale carbon mineralization plant based on slag. It is targeted to be commissioned in Q2 2023.

THE GROUND-BREAKING CEREMONY

On July 31, the groundbreaking ceremony of the world’s first commercial plant of the carbon mineralization technology using steel slag took place in Baotou, Inner-Mongolia, China. Baorong Environmental Protection New Materials Co., Ltd., a JV between Greenore Cleantech (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and Baotou Steel Group, targets to commission the plant in summer 2021 with a capacity of valorizing 100,000 metric tons slag and 20,000 metric tons CO₂ per year.

GreenOre CleanTech signed a MOU with JCOAL to launch the joint project “Carbon Capture and Utilization and Carbon Recycling Process Development"at the Wyoming Intergrated Test Center.

PILOT PLANT LAUNCH IN BAOTOU STEEL

A slag carbonation pilot plant owned by the JV between GreenOre and Baotou Steel (Group) has been commissioned 2019 spring, which is also the 1st industrial prototype of its kind in the world. A scale-up commercial plant will be launched Q4 2019.

Mission Innovation (MI) is a global initiative of 24 countries and the European Commission (on behalf of the European Union) working to reinvigorate and accelerate global clean energy innovation with the objective to make clean energy widely affordable. MI was announced at COP21 on November 30, 2015, as world leaders came together in Paris to commit to ambitious efforts to combat climate change.

Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) of the Republic of Korea launched a new international joint R&D program in Nov. 2018, which supports R&D cooperation among South Korean universities, companies, and research institutes and their foreign partners.  A 3-year R&D project,led by Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), GreenOre and Columbia University aims to develop novel technologies for industrial waste carbonation.
